I see a lot of different methods and different routines for cleansing the body and detoxing the digestive system and just an overall total cleanse. There’s a variety of different information out there along with a whole slew of different products to choose from that typically involve the use of super fruit ingredients and exotic sounding herbs. A super colon cleanse methodology that I advise doing is through the combination of juicing, smoothies, and herbal and natural supplementation, be it through cleansing programs or through individual natural supplements.
I generally advise that if you do any juicing, that you do it with your own juicer and not store-bought juices because “juiced” juice is much more nutritionally beneficial. I’m also a big fan of green smoothies and advise having those on a regular basis as a possible meal replacement especially for lunch. And of course while I don’t promote any particular supplement or so for my brand I do recommend you at least take a look at the different cleansing products available to you.
A really great health plus super colon cleanse trick you can do to get yourself to get more raw foods and produce into your system is if you’re going to do it through the smoothie route. The reason why this can be so effective is because you can buy all of your produce in bulk and then simply freeze at all and stored away for whenever you want to use it. And then on top of that, you can then take that easily and readily available produce and throat in a powerful blender for no more than 2 to 3 minutes and you have yourself a virtual meal replacement that is infinitely more nutritious than anything they could find that man-made and is much more palatable and easy to take with you than anything created from a juicer or even a cleanse product. I do however it buys that if you’re going to do the smoothie or green smoothie route, that you invest in a high powered blender of considerable quality, these blunders tend to run during $3-$400 more often than not but I found that it’s worth every penny.
As always, I recommend that for any super colon cleansing routine, that you buy the freshest and most local produce that you can find, because while not all local farmers are certified organic they often will actually form with organic practices and simply skip the certification to help save money for what is a already very difficult job. And again if you’re not comfortable doing smoothies or juicing you can always investigate all the different cleansing products that are out there and see which ones might be a good fit for you and what you need to do for yourself, don’t be afraid to experiment and try out different things.
There a ton of different total cleanse methods out there, and there are equal amounts of various cleansing products and different methodologies to essentially achieving the same goal and it can be a little confusing sometimes which one is the most effective. And that’s really because while there are certain routines and methods that are technically more effective it really comes down to what you feel comfortable doing it the end of the day. My favorite type of cleansing method is simply doing the juice cleanse, this is also known as a juice fast. I have a much more detailed set of articles on this website that go into the very specifics of how, when, and why you do choose cleansing, but in this article I’ll basically be going over why in general a juice cleanse is one of the best ways of not only cleaning out your body but improving your overall health and bodily function.
A juice cleanse can generally comprise of either vegetable juice or fruit juice, I tend to find and often advocate as well that people use both kinds of juices but that they lean towards the vegetable juice side of the scale. This is primarily due to the fact that the vegetable juice has much lower sugar content overall and as such is much healthier for your body and greater doses than fruit juice would be. The reason I advocate using fruit juice as well is because many people simply find the taste of many vegetable juices, especially vegetable juice blends, to be too unpalatable and that mixing the vegetable juice along with a fruit juice like apple juice or pear juice tends to mask the flavor of the vegetables much more and make the juice much more pleasant to the taste buds. Vegetable juices tend to act as the nurturers, while fruit juices tend act as the cleansers, so by doing both you get the benefits of both types of produce while also making the juice that you’re going to be drinking on a regular basis for your juice cleansing diet much more palatable.
The core reason why a juice colon cleanse is the most potent type of cleanse is because there is no fiber and because while doing the juice cleansing whether its a lemon juice cleanse or any other type,you’re not eating any solid food for a few days, and its this food and fiber that can sometimes get in the way of nutrient absorption. The fact of the matter is that if you do the right kind of colon cleansing under proper and regular medical supervision in the proper manner and with the proper food, colon cleansing is nearly always safe, especially once the doctor has signed off on the method you and your doctor agreed upon. Often colon cleansing is simply just a change in diet, which results in much more organic and healthy produce intake along with much higher levels of fiber, and there’s no doctor out there who would ever advise differently unless under special and particular conditions or circumstances.
A total detox cleanse can be a really daunting task even for those of us who’ve done it on a regular basis and for many years. While I am a huge fan of juicing and believe it’s the most effective means of treating very serious diseases and illnesses in a natural way, it’s not always the easiest thing to do because juicers can be messy, difficult to maintain and cleanup, and generally perform much slower than it would to simply buy the juice or to throw some things in a blender. Having said this, the easiest total body cleanse that I generally have found anyone can do is through making fresh smoothies in a high-powered blender and drinking these are regular basis. The biggest advantage that doing this type of method has, is that it covers all the basic issues with cleansing, the greatest of which is actually not financial but simply time related. Most people feel that they simply do not have the time especially if they have a family, but when you have a high-powered blender all you would need to do is keep some frozen fruit in the fridge and throw it in the blender for couple minutes and you have rapid total body cleanse smoothies for you and your family.
I have more detailed information on other parts of the site in terms of recipes and types of produce to use, but regardless of what you choose to go with, always remember to go with organic or locally grown produce. The reason for this, is that these particular fruits and vegetables are much less exposed to toxins and pesticides used in traditional farming. I also recommend that people use a high quality and natural veggie wash even if you’ve bought organic produce from a store, this is because often the produce still has dirt and wax, not to mention the fact that many people’s hands will have handled the produce you bought by the time you go to use it.

By far the most common factor would be the ease-of-use, you don’t have to think and you don’t have to buy anything else its all-in-one product. The other reason is the fact that you can read reviews and see which products are appropriate for you without having to do any guesswork, not to mention these products are often much more affordable than buying the sometimes very expensive organic produce that’s required for juicing or smoothies.
The benefit to juicing is the fact that it’s by far the most potent of three methods in terms of nutrient delivery. This is because it doesn’t contain any of the natural fiber, which for those of you who really need high doses of these nutrients due to deficiency or poor diet is incredibly beneficial because it goes straight into your bloodstream into your liver which is your alternate detoxifying organ. The only downside to this is that you have to have an expensive juicer and often plenty of time to do the juicing and prep work.
Last but not least we have making smoothies, these are fantastic for the reasons mentioned before like containing high levels of fiber to improve digestion as well as plenty of nutrient dense vitamins and mineral levels. They’re also extremely convenient because all you have to do is keep your produce frozen take it out put in a blender for couple minutes and you’re done, with the right blend or can be extremely fast with easy cleanup. The only downside to this is that you really need a high-end blender to really create the kind of smoothies that would benefit you and the splendors tend to run $300-$400. Not to mention you still have to buy all the expensive produce that is required to make these movies. The good thing is that all three methods to work and have to simply find which option works best for you.
A colon flush is simply another means of helping you remove excess waste and built up gunk that can sometimes be trapped within your colon and digestive system. A natural colon flush is often done to help combat and deal with all of the build up that comes not only from poor dietary choices but from excess toxins and pollutants that tend to become trapped within the digestive system. These toxins don’t always have to come from diet though, these types of pesticides and chemicals can also be found within the air that we breathe, the water we drink, and the different types of materials and substances that we touch our day-to-day basis whether it’s in our home or at work. The plus side of doing juice fasting or juicing in general is the fact that the nutrients get into your system very quickly and help support your body to perform at maximum function which in turn allows you to remove waste at a much more efficient rate. The benefit of consuming smoothies during a colon flush diet however is the fact that not only do you get all those nutrients but you also get the additional fiber which helps to promote bowel movements and proper digestion. It’s these bowel movements which essentially help remove, when done on a regular basis, excess waste in gunk that is trapped and built up within your colon. As always the best colon flush is the one your actually going to do and I advise using organic produce whether you’re juicing or making smoothies. Never forget that drinking pure filtered water should never be considered an option when doing any of these, it’s crucial that you drink plentiful amounts of water to help encourage waste removal and keep yourself hydrated.
The most effective total body cleanse is the one that you’ll actually do, and while that may sound trite it’s the real truth as most people don’t have the persistence or the time and energy to complete a total cleanse of any type whether it’s a total body cleanse were simply a specific cleanse to target a particular organ like the liver or kidneys. The whole point of this article is to help you understand and realize that the most effective total body cleanse is going to be the one that you can stand doing, that you can afford to do, and would be the most appropriate for you according to your tastes and needs as well as your financial situation as well because we all know that cleansing products and organic produce is very expensive.

And the reason why these bottled beverages are less effective is because even if you find whole organic single ingredient juices where there’s no fillers or blending, the juice goes through a pasteurization process which is needed for shelving. While this kills all the harmful bacteria it also kills all the helpful bacteria as well, which are known as enzymes, and it’s these enzymes that allow all the vitamins and nutrients to be absorbed by your body more efficiently which is crucial to a total body cleanse. So don’t skimp on the juicer or the produce and do it the right way the first time, because when you first experience the benefits of cleansing you’ll soon see that this is the most effective total body cleanse option that you have.
As you may or may not know cleansing can be a really intimidating process to go through if you’ve never done it before and sometimes we only a little bit of help instruction. This is more of a general guideline as to what you should do when cleansing in general. When you’re doing any sort of cleanse if you’re doing it by using a cleansing product it vies looking up reviews and comparing it with other customer’s reviews and experiences for either continuing to take it or buying it to begin with. While I personally don’t take any of these products I advise giving a variety of them the chance assuming they have the positive feedback and reviews to back up their claims.
If you’re going to go the natural route, I suggest either getting a juicer and start juicing or getting a high-powered blender like the blendtec total blender or vitamix blender and start making healthy and beneficial green smoothies or regular fruit smoothies to start out with. Both of these methods are dressed in more detail on my site and are extremely effective and not only cleansing the body but removing waste out of the colon in a more efficient rate and providing much-needed nutrition to your whole body as a whole. You can also add supplemental herbs and teas to your overall cleansing routine as well and if you do this make sure they are natural and make sure that she is freshly brewed if at all possible. If you do all these basic things you’ll find your health in much better condition in your cleanse is much more effective.

This is meant for those of you who need something a bit more general or simply would prefer a more compact version of my prior total cleanse routine. What this says is essentially how to juice fast for total cleanse, juice fasting is by far the most effective, quickest, and natural way to really clean out your colon and help detox your body in the process. Always consult a doctor or other healthcare professional before doing any cleansing routine or cleansing products.
Basically what I recommend that people do is that the day before they cleanse and particularly the night before they cleanse I recommend that people do not eat heavily and that most of their food should be raw and organic and should not be processed or cooked. This is to help prepare the body for the next three days or you will not be in any solid food and you’ll only be drinking juice and water. The first thing that needs to be done is the person doing the cleanse needs to purchase a bottle of natural oral liquid laxative, I use and often recommend buying oral solution magnesium citrate, you can find a bottle of this at any drugstore like CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid to name a few. The bottle is usually 10 to 12 ounces and is generally in a glass bottle, I recommend putting it in the fridge and cooling it just like you would a beverage so that it goes down easier. You drink the whole bottle the night before you start your cleanse and throughout the night and into the next day your bowel movements should be mostly liquid and this is a good thing as it exactly what you want to see and that means your colon is removing all the excess waste.
Instead of using an entire article or post for each individual day I’ll simply sum up how to juice fast for total cleanse throughout the three days as what you do doesn’t change really very much. If you have a juicer I recommend juicing over buying bottled juice as this kind of juice has more enzymes in and it’s also a lot healthier for you as a result. If you don’t have or can’t acquire a juicer I recommend buying only organic whole juices, no juice blends or anything from concentrate, just the straight stuff with no extra ingredients except for the juice itself and that’s it. You can generally consume any type of fruit juice that you want but there are specific vegetable juices that you must take each day, these four include carrot juice, cucumber juice, beet juice, and celery juice. Be sure to get an equal amount of each juice regardless of the serving within each day and drink these for all three days. Along with the fruit juice and vegetable juice you must continue to drink a large amount of purified filtered water I recommend at least 2 to 3 liters for women in 3 to 4 for men possibly more during cleanse by about an extra liter or so for both genders.
You will be hungry, you may even feel ill, your breath may get worse and your body odor may start to worsen as well, this is to be expected and is a sign that you were starting to release the toxins naturally from your body, stick with it. At the end of the three days you can eat again but do so with small portions and only with raw and organic foods nothing processed or cooked do this for the next 3 to 7 days as well. Then you can gradually go back to at least some of the foods that you ate before, but if you want to maintain the results you’re going to want to stick to a healthy and natural diet.
I hope you guys are starting to see the benefits of the total cleanse, your urine should be light yellow and much clearer then before; you should not be having much of any bowel movements. And your likely feeling a lot lighter-and you should be, you’ve removed a lot of waste and toxins and your liver is crying for joy. Hopefully you have kept up with your water intake of 4-6 liters a day and your keeping steady with the juices, it’s almost over, and if you have taken wheatgrass at all during the total cleanse you should be noticing the wheatgrass benefits to your overall lighter feeling as well. Now I personally detox every so often although I have no set pattern it’s just generally when I’m feeling regularly lethargic and generally unhealthy.
When you have reached the end of the third day and you’re feeling oh so hungry I want you to resist temptation and figure you can snack a little early, please don’t you need another full night of rest on an empty but cleansed body. I know it can be tempting as I’ve gone for over a week with some of my fasts.
Now once you have awoken and you’re starting on day 4 you can eat solid food again yes, I know you want to do a dance in celebration, it’s perfectly OK. But please resist the urge to gorge and eat fatty and rich foods, your body has not eaten anything for 3 and half days and you will do harm to yourself and also ruin the total cleanse and all your hard work if you do this. For breakfast you should have a whole grain bagel or a small serving of organic whole grain oatmeal or cereal (no fatty milk) along with a slice of fruit preferably melon or banana for the potassium. For lunch you should have a salad with organic vinaigrette based dressings (please check ingredients, avoid the typical corn syrup “natural flavors” phony dressings out there.) you can also have a fruit salad as well either for lunch or as a snack so you can continue to enjoy the benefits of eating healthy.
Consume nuts at some point in the day peanuts or almonds (small handfuls, that’s it) for protein. For dinner keep it light please your body needs to slowly adapt to eating again. My recommendation would to have some small amount of WHOLE GRAIN pasta with real organic tomato sauce or some fish lightly flavored with lemon and garlic so you can get your healthy fats. You need to eat reasonably the following days if you intend to get the most out of your juice fast but eventually your body does get invaded with toxins again even if your diet is perfect so it’s needed every once in awhile. And remember always- ALWAYS drink plenty of water no matter what, 2-4 liters a day for women and 4-6 for men. In following articles I’ll detail eating plans and general tips and advice for food and products that will benefit you in your plan to have a clean body and healthy life.
On day two you should really be starting to feel the effects of the total cleanse. Be sure to shower regularly as a vast amount of the toxins will sweat out through your pores, and you don’t want them lingering as it’s not healthy and can often smell offensive. Continue with the juicing regime I outlined in the prior article The Basic Core cleanse and Juice Fast Guide: Day 1. Be sure not exercise too strenuously as your body is not in a condition for it, but do be sure to get a minimal amount of cardio throughout the fast so that the blood flow is pumping properly and carrying out all those toxins to the various parts of your body to expel.
Now let me Elaborate why I recommended the juices I did. These are not frivolous choices given without care- they were selected for a reason and for optimum cleansing. Let’s start with…..
Beet juice: The beet juice is considered as one of the best vegetable juices for detox cleansing. It is a rich source of natural sugar. It contains sodium, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sulfur, chlorine, iodine, iron, copper, and vitamin B1, B2, C and P. This juice is rich in easily digestible carbohydrates, but the calorie content is low. The protein factors or amino acids are good in both quality and quantity. Beets also have great healing qualities as well, and have therapeutic value. They have properties to clean the kidneys and gall bladder (which help detox the body). Being rich in alkaline elements, potassium, calcium, magnesium and iron, they are useful in combating acidosis and aid the natural processes of elimination.
Cucumber Juice: Cucumber is well known for its healing and diuretic properties. It’s a great source of Copper, Chlorine, Folate (folic acid), Magnesium, Vitamins B6, K, & C, Potassium, Panthothemic acid, Phosphorus, Thiamin, and Sulfur. Cucumber peel itself is rich in vitamin A as well (hence making your own juice is more potent). Cucumber juice has a tendency to increase its own potency and the potency of other veggie juices when mixed so not only does it act as a diuretic because its 90% water but it also increases the strength of the other veggie juice. (Did I mention it’s great for the skin?
Carrot Juice: Carrot juice is the most powerful veggie juice there is next to wheat grass, and thankfully is one of the most plentiful even bottled for those of you without access to a juicer. Carrot juice is one of the richest sources of vitamin A that can be used in the daily diet. It also ranks high as a source of the other anti aging vitamins, especially those of the B complex. Its mineral content is equally rich, and includes calcium, copper, magnesium, potassium, sodium, phosphorus, chlorine, sulfur, and iron. The vitamin A content of carrot juice helps to strengthen the eyes and is essential in keeping healthy condition the mucous membranes which line all the cavities of the body, as well as strengthening the bones teeth and tissues of the body among its many other benefits.

Assuming you have followed the guide thus far please know there is wiggle room within this guide for your own tastes and what your comfortable with, but there is a minimum amount of various juices you WILL have to take in order for the total cleanse to be the most effective. The three core vegetable juices that you should consume throughout the fast (and frankly in your regular diet if possible) are beet juice, carrot juice, and cucumber juice. The fruit juices can be a matter of taste although you should generally stay away from the higher sugar and citrus juices as they are gentler on the body and have less sugar for your body to process. You can also have other veggie juices as well if you like but you MUST consume the three core veggie juices daily.
You should generally have a few glasses of each veggie juice per day spread out throughout the day but that can vary depending on your physical size. The fruit juices you should have more sparingly and should keep it at a minimum. Many people I’ve helped have used a small amount of fruit juice as a chaser for the veggie juice as the taste can be unpleasant. I cannot stress enough how beneficial making your own juice can be to the total cleanse, especially when fasting. If you do not have a juicer, at some point I whole heartily recommend you buy one because bottled juice is missing much of the enzymes and vital chemicals that allow all those nutrients to be absorbed in the first place, I will address my personal recommendations for juicers in another article.
If you need to buy your juice, cucumber may be difficult to find but it can be found at the smaller independent health food stores. I have found organic carrot and beet juice (not from concentrate) at places like whole foods and trader Joes before as well, so no excuses everyone! I want you guys to be healthy. DO NOT BUY VEGGIE OR FRUIT JUICE BLENDS! The veggies blends like V8 have tons of sodium and are not good for you, and fruit blends are often way too high in sugar and are from concentrate, only buy the straight non from concentrate single juices, please. The fruit juice I recommend are Apple, Pear, smaller amounts of grape, and a little orange juice here and there. And don’t forget the most important rule…Drink 4-6 liters of water a day, this will truly clean your system out and give you a total body cleanse.
3-4 glasses of veggie juice: Cucumber,Beet,Carrot-at minimum.
1-2 glasses of fruit juice: apple(cloudy),pear, and smaller amounts of grape and orange.
4-6 liters of pure drinking water (no tap water please, it’s too toxic).
This total cleanse diet is not easy to do at first but as long as you go into for your first time, but its very important you give it time to work for any of this to be effective.
Before I begin the guide I must let you know that should you decide to perform this detox cleanse during the process of the actual juice fasting you will experience some possible side effects. Some of these are headaches, tiredness, hypoglycemia, constipation, acne, increased body odor, and bad breath. These are signs that the cleanse is working and your body is being allowed to naturally release and expel toxins from your body through your skin, breath, and waste. Often people will complain of light headedness and the general sense of feeling ill, generally the worse it is- the more your body needed to have a total cleanse in the first place.
Step #1: The day before you start your juice fast be sure to keep your meals light and healthy mostly veggies and grains if possible. Do not eat late so as to give your body an easier time passing what waste you have inside your colon.
Step #2: At some point before the juice fast you need to purchase a natural and gentle Laxative this is KEY to facilitating and removing much of the waste. My recommendation is Oral Solution Magnesium Citrate Cherry; this is one of the gentlest laxatives you can by and therefore is gentle on your body but still accomplishes the task of removing waste. You can purchase this at a drugstore like CVS for 2 dollars typically. At some point in the evening before you go to bed you should consume the whole bottle (it’s 10oz) you’ll be going to the toilet frequently so prepare to go during the night and waking up having to use the bathroom.
It may not be attractive to talk or think about but you need to know that when your defecating it should be liquid essentially coming out and it will sound as if you are urinating but your obviously not. This process should last through the evening/night and into the morning whereas sometime in the morning to early noontime you should be slowing down if it does not that’s ok too, everyone is different and some have much more to get rid of then others.
Step #3: During the late evening and into the morning and noon hours of your first day of fasting and detoxing you should start to drink lots of water and various veggie and fruit juices which I will detail in greater depth in the next article about Day 1. Please be sure if you do have a juicer to juice your veggies and fruits instead of buying bottled. If you cannot get or do not have a juicer yet please try and buy organic and whole juices-not from concentrate from your local health food store if possible.
