My personal favorite is to drink a mixture of carrot juice, beet juice, cucumber juice, and celery juice. When a glass of juice is divided into equal parts among these various vegetables and taken on a regular basis during a juice cleanse this could be one of the most effective and potent detoxifying beverages that you can drink. As always, I recommend if you are going to juice do so with organic and properly washed and cared for produce don’t skip good hygienic procedures as you’re concentrating not only vitamins and minerals but possibly pesticides and chemicals as well so be careful.
There are really two types of approaches to cleansing the body and people generally either fall on one side or the other and sometimes they try both methods. One of the methods is buying a prepackaged cleansing product or “cleanse in a box “as I like to call them of some sort, whether it be something along the lines of herbal supplementation or through the use of colonics in similar programs and cleansing routines. Basically what I recommend that people do is that the day before they cleanse and particularly the night before they cleanse I recommend that people do not eat heavily and that most of their food should be raw and organic and should not be processed or cooked. This is to help prepare the body for the next three days or you will not be in any solid food and you’ll only be drinking juice and water. The first thing that needs to be done is the person doing the cleanse needs to purchase a bottle of natural oral liquid laxative, I use and often recommend buying oral solution magnesium citrate, you can find a bottle of this at any drugstore like CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid to name a few. The bottle is usually 10 to 12 ounces and is generally in a glass bottle, I recommend putting it in the fridge and cooling it just like you would a beverage so that it goes down easier. You drink the whole bottle the night before you start your cleanse and throughout the night and into the next day your bowel movements should be mostly liquid and this is a good thing as it exactly what you want to see and that means your colon is removing all the excess waste.
Instead of using an entire article or post for each individual day I’ll simply sum up how to juice fast for total cleanse throughout the three days as what you do doesn’t change really very much. If you have a juicer I recommend juicing over buying bottled juice as this kind of juice has more enzymes in and it’s also a lot healthier for you as a result. If you don’t have or can’t acquire a juicer I recommend buying only organic whole juices, no juice blends or anything from concentrate, just the straight stuff with no extra ingredients except for the juice itself and that’s it. If your primary cleansing routine is through juicing then what I recommend you do is take at least a couple glasses with each meal or where normally you would have a meal during the day. If at all possible please make sure that this is freshly juiced juice, this is important because fresh juice contains enzymes which are more effective at delivering nutrients into your system. In addition to the two glasses at each meal you should also make sure you have water with them as well at least a glass or two along with having water in between. You can also have a glass or two of fresh juice in between your main juice drinking meals, just don’t ever forget to drink purified water it’s crucial that your body is made of mostly water you need it to survive juice alone is not enough.
If your method for cleansing is through drinking smoothies or green smoothies for directions will be similar but slightly different. Depending upon the serving size you can have anywhere between one large glass or two smaller glasses of smoothies within each time you normally eat a meal or along with a meal. You generally need to drink more juice than you do drinking smoothies because juice contains no fiber and smoothies do and they generally are more filling as a result. If you’re curious what kind of juice I would personally recommend you take I recommend doing a minimum mixture of beet juice, cucumber juice, carrot juice, celery juice and anything else you might want to add for sweetness like apple Juice. As regards the smoothies I generally recommend you add greens to your fruit smoothies. The fruits I would recommend are mostly berries like blueberries, elderberries, aronia berries, black berries, and at least one whole banana for thickness and potassium. The greens I recommend adding would be kale, spinach, or rainbow chard. Always remember not to be afraid to try out different varieties and change things up with greens and fruits you use for your juices and your smoothies so you keep things not only new and interesting but also healthy by introducing different nutrients and flavors on a regular basis. These are simple total cleanse directions and guidelines that anyone can follow and really work.

Just keep in mind though, if you don’t have any kidney stones or any serious kidney problems and you’re simply trying to maintain or make some small improvements, generally just increasing the water that you drink every day will be enough to do this. Just make sure the water that you drink is pure and it’s filtered.

The reason these are so common and so very effective is because one, they have a lot of fiber and two, because they are very easy to make and cleanup. All you need is some produce, preferably frozen, and a blender that is powerful enough to blend the produce and you have yourself nearly a complete meal. What makes a green smoothie green is the fact that it’s a normal fruit smoothie with added greens to it to give it extra fiber and nutrition it’s also a great way to get your leafy greens and without having to deal with the taste.

Drink plenty of pure filtered water too, i advise around 2-3 liters for women (depending on weight and size) and about 3-4 for men (same size rules apply).
I recommend not eating much solid food, and should you do so, keep it raw, and whole, no man made foods, do that along with regular juicing, then about 3-7 days into the core liver cleanse you should notice a huge difference in how you feel. You may feel a bit sick during this process but that’s totally normal because your body is finally eliminating all those nasty built up toxins, so keep it up and see it through your body will thank you.
There are tons of different cleansing products, diets, plans, and methods out there that you could spend many weeks if not months investigating what might be the best option. The removal of the fiber is key to drastically reducing the workload on the digestive system, and it means that more juice passes directly to the lower intestine where much of the absorption takes place. This can’t happen with smoothies because you’re getting the fiber along with the nutrients, but the fiber takes up a lot of the real estate and reduces the absorption rate along with also making the body SPEND more energy (using all the nutrients you’re trying to take in to process the smoothie). This is inefficient and a much slower and less effective cleanse, many choose it because it is gentler, and fiber IS important to have, but when you’re trying to get the quickest results, juicing is the only way to go.
Acai berries are not a cure all, no fruit or vegetable no matter how “super” is enough to really cleanse your body and also make up for all the other nutrients people tend to replace with one or two super fruits or other supplements and ingredients. Having said all that, this particular berry IS very beneficial and healthy if taken in the right way, and in the right amounts. An acai berry whole body cleanse can either be done through the use of a supplemental product in combination with juicing or green smoothies, or it can be done by simply blending, mixing and integrating the berry in its various forms in your smoothies or juice instead of suing a packaged product or supplement. I am not going to recommend any cleansing product, as there are simply too many but I do advise you try various ones to see which ones best suit your needs, budget, and situation. In this article I’ll be detailing the different forms and ways you can incorporate the acai berry into your smoothies and juices.
The first option would be to do your acai berry whole body cleanse with freshly pressed or juiced veggie and fruit juices. The best form in which you can do this is through the use of freeze dried acai powder, while not the most optimum form of acai-its close, and very convenient because of the form it’s in and that it won’t spoil quickly like liquid forms of acai. I recommend either sambazon or amazon thunder powder, don’t bother with powder capsules as they don’t absorb as well where as a couple scoops of the regular freeze dried powder mixed in with the great delivery system of freshly made juice will allow for much more absorption and bioavailability. I tend not to recommend the bottled “juice supplements” you will find in the supplement stores as they are often spoiled, poorly processed , and are overpriced.
The other method would be to use acai in a fruit smoothie or green smoothie, this can be great for folks who don’t have a juicer, or simply don’t have the time to juice as blending provides a quick and easy method of getting nutrients plus the added bonus of tons of naturally occurring fiber. You can use the powdered acai for these as well and they work great, but another choice is using frozen puree. Sambazon and Zola both provide high quality flash pasteurized frozen puree which is unsweetened. These puree packs are ideal for smoothies for obvious reasons, you get the whole berry in the purest form next to having the berry itself and its in a frozen and convenient package for smoothie making, and the FDA has determined frozen produce does retain its nutritional value as much if not longer then fresh produce. So no matter how you choose to incorporate acai into your whole body cleanse, be sure you research, test, and go with what works for you.
Assuming you have followed the guide thus far please know there is wiggle room within this guide for your own tastes and what your comfortable with, but there is a minimum amount of various juices you WILL have to take in order for the total cleanse to be the most effective. The three core vegetable juices that you should consume throughout the fast (and frankly in your regular diet if possible) are beet juice, carrot juice, and cucumber juice. The fruit juices can be a matter of taste although you should generally stay away from the higher sugar and citrus juices as they are gentler on the body and have less sugar for your body to process. You can also have other veggie juices as well if you like but you MUST consume the three core veggie juices daily.
You should generally have a few glasses of each veggie juice per day spread out throughout the day but that can vary depending on your physical size. The fruit juices you should have more sparingly and should keep it at a minimum. Many people I’ve helped have used a small amount of fruit juice as a chaser for the veggie juice as the taste can be unpleasant. I cannot stress enough how beneficial making your own juice can be to the total cleanse, especially when fasting. If you do not have a juicer, at some point I whole heartily recommend you buy one because bottled juice is missing much of the enzymes and vital chemicals that allow all those nutrients to be absorbed in the first place, I will address my personal recommendations for juicers in another article.
If you need to buy your juice, cucumber may be difficult to find but it can be found at the smaller independent health food stores. I have found organic carrot and beet juice (not from concentrate) at places like whole foods and trader Joes before as well, so no excuses everyone! I want you guys to be healthy. DO NOT BUY VEGGIE OR FRUIT JUICE BLENDS! The veggies blends like V8 have tons of sodium and are not good for you, and fruit blends are often way too high in sugar and are from concentrate, only buy the straight non from concentrate single juices, please. The fruit juice I recommend are Apple, Pear, smaller amounts of grape, and a little orange juice here and there. And don’t forget the most important rule…Drink 4-6 liters of water a day, this will truly clean your system out and give you a total body cleanse.
3-4 glasses of veggie juice: Cucumber,Beet,Carrot-at minimum.
1-2 glasses of fruit juice: apple(cloudy),pear, and smaller amounts of grape and orange.
4-6 liters of pure drinking water (no tap water please, it’s too toxic).
This total cleanse diet is not easy to do at first but as long as you go into for your first time, but its very important you give it time to work for any of this to be effective.
Before I begin the guide I must let you know that should you decide to perform this detox cleanse during the process of the actual juice fasting you will experience some possible side effects. Some of these are headaches, tiredness, hypoglycemia, constipation, acne, increased body odor, and bad breath. These are signs that the cleanse is working and your body is being allowed to naturally release and expel toxins from your body through your skin, breath, and waste. Often people will complain of light headedness and the general sense of feeling ill, generally the worse it is- the more your body needed to have a total cleanse in the first place.
Step #1: The day before you start your juice fast be sure to keep your meals light and healthy mostly veggies and grains if possible. Do not eat late so as to give your body an easier time passing what waste you have inside your colon.
Step #2: At some point before the juice fast you need to purchase a natural and gentle Laxative this is KEY to facilitating and removing much of the waste. My recommendation is Oral Solution Magnesium Citrate Cherry; this is one of the gentlest laxatives you can by and therefore is gentle on your body but still accomplishes the task of removing waste. You can purchase this at a drugstore like CVS for 2 dollars typically. At some point in the evening before you go to bed you should consume the whole bottle (it’s 10oz) you’ll be going to the toilet frequently so prepare to go during the night and waking up having to use the bathroom.
It may not be attractive to talk or think about but you need to know that when your defecating it should be liquid essentially coming out and it will sound as if you are urinating but your obviously not. This process should last through the evening/night and into the morning whereas sometime in the morning to early noontime you should be slowing down if it does not that’s ok too, everyone is different and some have much more to get rid of then others.
Step #3: During the late evening and into the morning and noon hours of your first day of fasting and detoxing you should start to drink lots of water and various veggie and fruit juices which I will detail in greater depth in the next article about Day 1. Please be sure if you do have a juicer to juice your veggies and fruits instead of buying bottled. If you cannot get or do not have a juicer yet please try and buy organic and whole juices-not from concentrate from your local health food store if possible.
The body is clogged with a lot of buildup in the colon from years of poor diet with high fats, sugar, and a lack of fiber. This is common knowledge now but despite knowing this when people try to get the most out of there supplements and health foods they often feel let down by the results even after regular and steady intake. The reason for this is the blockage in the colon mentioned earlier, this often prevents and weakens the body’s ability to maximize nutrient absorption from your food and often makes the best supplements nearly useless.
Naturally we can conclude then that removing this blockage will remove this impediment and should allow for the various health foods and products to truly go to work and start the process to provide a total cleanse for the body.
Many forms of a naturopathy treatment are available to you and I will describe many of them in detail in future articles. The gentlest form of Cleansing is a food based diet where you simply consuming mostly high fiber grains, vegetables, and mostly water with light amounts of veggie and fruit juice. The most Extreme is simply fasting completely and only consuming water, I would never recommend this because your body is not getting any nutrients whatsoever and can be very harmful to the body. The most commonly used method and one I personally live by is the Juicing Fast or Cleanse. This involves consuming many liters of water a day along with Pure and Whole Fruit juices and Vegetable juices. As a result, your body is not taxing itself and is able to expel fecal matter blocking your colon but still allow for all the nutrients you need to survive and ultimately make the natural detox much more effective.
When someone is just starting this for the first time the fasting should only be for three days. Anything beyond this and you should consult a Physician first. There are people who should not try juice fasting. Pregnant or Nursing women should not try a juice fast or cleanse. People should not attempt a juice fast either before or after surgery. People with chronic conditions should only do so under medical supervision. Juice fasting can reduce blood proteins and change the way prescription drugs react with the body and therefore should consult a medical professional skilled in detoxification before trying a juice fast and should never reduce or modify their medications on their own.
